This is a small part of a bigger image I never finished, it was the first time I tried to get a painterly feel with Photoshop. I unfortunately had to move on from this image, but I really liked the mood. Made in 2006.

"Blue fairies in my little world are the most laid back type of fairies. They spend their days napping in flowers, or leaves. When they aren't being completely useless (Which is hardly ever), they marvel at the nature around them and either chase butterflies, gorge themselves with honey and other goodies, or sometimes even tease other creatures by being randomly mischievous. Blue fairies are very special and dear to nature's flora because of their peaceful auras. They only sing when they are sleepy (Which is often). Generally found in coniferous forests of high altitudes, they encourage the growth of the small, and enchanting mountain wild flowers as well as the strong pine trees. ". Made in 2009

I was looking for a light source to paint and experiment with light and choose a lamp I had nearby. Then I went on with drawing my cat from memory.
